There’s something so electric about an Austin engagement, and Gabriel and Mabry’s surprise proposal in the rain was no exception! These two sweethearts got engaged during one of the most magical, rain-soaked evenings I’ve ever had the honor of photographing. Just as their car turned the corner, the sky opened up, and so did the emotions. With a fountain backdrop, a perfectly timed downpour, and a whole lot of sneaky maneuvering, we made magic happen in the heart of Austin. Gabriel’s carefully planned proposal (complete with handmade floral arrangements!) was so deeply intimate, joyful, and utterly unforgettable. Moments like these are why I do what I do.

A Proposal in the Rain Straight Out of a Romance Movie

Every moment of this sweet surprise proposal in the rain felt like a scene straight out of The Notebook. It was cinematic in the most real, raw, unforgettable way. With barely a moment to spare, Kara and I dove around corners like a pair of ninjas, racing to the fountain where Gabriel had carefully placed floral arrangements just for Mabry. We ducked behind a wall, soaked and breathless, hearts pounding. Through the curtain of rain, Gabriel dropped to one knee. After Mabry said yes, they laughed and celebrated in the middle of it all, twirling in the rain like they were the only two people in the world. I was so glad I got to witness it!
