Dreamy Outdoor Engagement Photos in Botanical Gardens

There’s something so special about outdoor engagement photos in a garden like Ashton and Patrick’s. Everything feels alive, intentional, and a little bit slow in the best way. This sweet couple’s session unfolded so naturally as we wandered through winding pathways and layers of greenery that shifted with the light. Nothing felt overly posed, just space to be together and actually enjoy the moment.

What I loved most was how the gardens did what they do best: hold both beauty and simplicity at the same time. It made room for the in-between moments, the quiet laughter, the subtle glances, and everything that feels most like them.

Outdoor Engagement Photos that Tell Your Love Story

From the very beginning, Ashton and Patrick had such an easy, genuine connection. They naturally leaned into each other, laughed often, and fully embraced the experience in a way that made everything feel effortless. Moments like these are such a gift to document.

I love being able to balance the quiet, intimate in-betweens with the more playful, lighthearted ones. It’s what makes a story feel complete. My goal is always to create space where couples can just be themselves, without overthinking anything. When that happens, the images hold more than how it looked—they reflect how it truly felt.

The Art of Photographing in Two Mediums

For this session, I intentionally blended both digital and film photography. This is something I’ve come to see as essential in creating a truly full, and complete gallery. Digital allows me to move quickly and capture those fleeting moments. The sweet soft smiles that are quickly shared, the movement, the moments that might otherwise be missed.

On the other hand, film invites a slower pace. Each and every frame is intentional and chosen with care. That intention brings a level of sweetness and timelessness that is hard to replicate.

When used together, digital and film create a full story. One with moments of emotion, movement, and artistry. It feels like a love letter to the legacy you’re building together.

From Engagement Session to Wedding Day

What makes these beautiful outdoor engagement photos even more special is knowing I’ll be photographing their wedding later this year at Villa Antonia. Engagement sessions are never just about the photos. They’re about building comfort, trust, and familiarity before the wedding day arrives.

Having this time together ahead of the wedding helps us find a natural rhythm, so by the time the day comes, everything already feels easy and connected. That sense of ease carries through in the most meaningful way.

If this session is any indication, their wedding is going to be filled with warmth, joy, and intentional moments worth holding onto. I’m already looking forward to it—this time as they step into “I do.”

Let’s Document Your Outdoor Engagement Photos Next

Your story deserves to be told in a way that feels both honest and artful. Unposed where it matters, intentional where it counts, and always rooted in who you truly are. These are the kinds of stories I feel most connected to—the ones lived fully in the moment and cherished for years to come.

If you’re planning outdoor engagement photos and are drawn to a blend of digital and film photography, I’d love to help you tell your story in a way that feels authentic and timeless. You can inquire about your outdoor engagement photos or wedding day below.
